Our Mission

Harbor House hopes to contribute to the building of a just community where all people are included. We see all human beings as worthy of our time and our efforts. We offer referrals, resources, case management, and a hand up for those who are struggling. It is our goal to help all people in our community find hope, gainful employment, affordable housing, and a sense of personal well being.
I believe that homelessness is the human rights issue of our time. I believe our children's children will read about this issue in their history books, and I want to be able to answer honestly when they ask me, "What did you do?"
                            - Denise Cortes, Executive Director of Harbor House

The Needs

The needs in our community are great and the gap between the comfortable and the working poor has never been so wide. Housing costs soar and minimum wage remains stagnant which makes living in this area financially difficult.

Staying Local

Harbor House has been formed to address the needs of the Conejo Valley community.  The houses of faith will guide Harbor House with wisdom.  Donations will be used for local needs. We have a deep desire to serve the poor and we know them by name.
